Disney

My family and I have been to Disney four times in the last four years and are getting ready for our fifth this year. We bought into the Disney Vacation Club this past year and absolutely love it, and I  am even happier to see the new membership perks that we are now getting above the normal benefits. I do have a couple of complaints however, these complaints are not anything that have caused me from wanting to buy more points or that would make me discourage anyone from buying in.

When it comes to the expiration date, I certainly hope that Disney will extend the expiration date or get rid of them completely. Anyone who is a member knows that we spend a lot of money for these, and while every last dollar that we have spent at Disney is well worth it. For the simple memories alone that we have with our two daughters, the shows, the way they treat you. I cannot think of any vacation company that puts more effort into making sure you feel welcome and happy in your vacation. That being said it is very expensive and buying into this property should be just that actually buying shares of the hotel or property. The other thing is if Disney does not want to extend the expiration date (which we were told they would) I will buy more points through the timeshare store, even though you do not get quite all of the same benefits as buying through Disney. We already bought through Disney and get all of the benefits, I would really like to be able to buy more from Disney though.

I also wish that with being a member that the benefits of buying more property interests were a little more enticing, getting an additional 100 points for one time use does not really make me want to call up right away like it is a can't miss offer. If they were to offer something along the lines of an additional 25 points for every 100 points you buy I might be a little more intrigued. The fact that when we bought in the price was 135 per point and today they went up to 155 per point makes me less and less likely to buy more unless the incentive is greater. Especially when they can be bought at a significant lower price through secondary sites, although not being able to use the points in the same manner.

This is not a complaint but one last thing to everyone I have talked to about Disney that has said it is too expensive. It is pretty expensive but how much is too much when you can go somewhere that neither you nor your kids will ever forget? I know many people would spend every last dime for their kids, when you are at Disney it is a completely different place and you are literally transformed back into a kid and become that kid that many of us still want to be. We will again make another memorable trip to Disney and take more than 6 or 700 pictures, so we don't forget anything we do. We will have smiles from ear to ear and enjoy every minute and see things we have not seen even though we have been there multiple times. We will again tell everyone we know how amazing of a place it is and try to convince them to go the next time we go, and for anyone reading this saying that we are rich, or that we have more money than we know what to do with. You could not be more than wrong, we struggle the same as most people do, we just made a choice that we would make sure we used every bit of money to create memories no matter how far in debt we are in at the time, and no matter the cost.
